The Furtschaglhaus is a refuge of the Berlin section of the German Alpine Club . The 1st category hut is located on the main ridge of the Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol at 2295 m above sea level, southeast above the Schlegeis reservoir .
history
The hut was built in 1889 by the Berlin DAV section. In 1992 a renovation that lasted almost ten years was completed and a new hydropower plant was built in 2002/2003 to supply energy.
The Furtschaglhaus is supplied with the help of a material ropeway, which can also be used to transport guests' luggage for a fee.
Approach
- From Schlegeisspeicher ( 1785 m ), which can be reached via a toll road with bus transport, via Furtschaglboden in 2½ hours.
Transitions
- Via the Berliner Höhenweg to the Berliner Hütte ( 2042 m ) in 6 hours of walking.
- To the Olpererhütte , 4 hours
- To the Chemnitzer Hütte (Nevesjochhütte), 4 to 5 hours
- To the Edelrauthütte , 5 hours
- To the Pfitscher-Joch-Haus , 4.5 hours
- The Furtschaglhaus is a stage point on the Zentralalpenweg 02 of the Austrian Alpine Association (OeAV).

Among other things, the following peaks in the Zillertal Alps can be climbed from the Furtschaglhaus:
- Hochfeiler , 3509 m , as a high tour through the north face in 6 to 10 hours to the highest peak in the Zillertal Alps
- Großer Möseler , 3478 m , 4 hours, alpine tour
- Furtschaglspitze , 3190 m , 3½ hours
- Schönbichler Horn , 3133 m , 2½ hours
