Gérard Landry

Gérard Landry , actually Landry Fernand Charles Marrier de Lagatinerie (born October 16, 1912 in Buenos Aires , † September 18, 1999 in Nice ) was an Argentine-French actor .

Life

Landry began his acting career in 1932 in the film Mirage de Paris . In his more than fifty-year career, he has appeared in over ninety films, including Les Trottoirs de Bangkok (The Sidewalks of Bangkok) by Jean Rollin and Bestie Mensch by Jean Renoir , the film adaptation of a story of the same name by Emile Zola . In Carol Reed's trapeze , he was seen alongside Burt Lancaster , Tony Curtis and Gina Lollobrigida . During the sixties and seventies he was frequently booked for supporting roles in Italian film productions, including primarily adventure and crime films, but also slapstick like Four Fists for a Hallelujah with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill (1972).

His first marriage was to actress Jacqueline Porel (1918–2012), his son Marc Porel (1949–1983) followed in his parents' footsteps with an acting career. He was the grandfather of the actress Bérengère de Lagatinerie . His second wife was the actress and comedian Janine Darcey (1917-1993). Gérard Landry died in Nice, France at the age of 86.
