Gérard-Paul-Louis-Marie de Milleville CSSp (born May 27, 1912 in Londinières , Haute-Normandie , France , † January 12, 2007 ) was Archbishop of Conakry .

Life

Gérard de Milleville joined the order of the Spiritans and was ordained a priest there on August 26, 1939 , after which he went to Guinea as a missionary .

On May 8, 1955, he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Conakry and at the same time titular Bishop of Dalisandus in Pamphylia and Vicar Apostolic of Conakry. He received episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Rouen , Joseph-Marie-Eugène Martin . With the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate Conakry to the Archbishopric by Pius XII. de Milleville was named archbishop on September 14, 1955. On March 10, 1962, de Milleville resigned from office. He became titular archbishop of Gabala .

In 1964 he became auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza , Brazil ; also from January 29, 1968 Apostolic Administrator of Basse-Terre and Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe , Lesser Antilles . On October 5, 1970, his resignation as Apostolic Administrator of Paul VI. accepted, in 1984 he also resigned as auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza .
