The Saana Mountains (also Salt Mountains or Sanoker Mountains , Polish: Góry Słonne, Old Polish: Góry Sanockie ) form the western part of the Forest Carpathians , surrounded by the Bukowica Hills and the Bieszczady Mountains .
It is part of the Sanok-Turka Mountains , which merge into the Skoler Beskids in Ukraine , the pre-Carpathian hill country.
The highest point is the Słonny ( salty ) at 668 meters .

The mountains consist of a large, rocky ridge with the Orli Kamień ( Eagle Rock ) 518 m above sea level. M. in the north-west, Biała Góra (529 m) and the Słonny (668 m) in the south, and the smaller Paproć (fern) 503 m. State road 28 runs south of the region near Tyrawa Wołoska . A serpentine path runs from the road up to the mountains from Sanok to Przemyśl . In the villages of Olchowce, Bykowce and Załuż lies the salt mountains with part of Beskid Niski and Bieszczady . In the interwar period, famous automobile races were organized on this serpentine road near Wujskie, in which the world-famous rally participants from abroad ( Hans Stuck , Rudolf Caracciola and others) take part. This sporting tradition has been preserved to this day.
