Monument description
The Gödersheimer Mühle is part of a series of mills along the Neffelbach. The mill complex is probably the oldest mill foundation, former window openings in the main house indicate that it was built in the 16th century. The manor house (main house), a two-story quarry stone building with a hipped roof, also houses the mill, the mills of which are still there. The architectural features such as original sandstone walls and corner blocks correspond to those of the nearby Gödersheim castle ruins from the 15th - 16th centuries. Century. The farm buildings, which form a three-wing courtyard with the manor house, are half-timbered and originated in the 17th century. In the rear area there is a sandstone masonry bakery. The homestead is of particular value because of its unity and cohesion. Almost all of the original buildings and facilities have been preserved and their former function can be seen. The courtyard is of particular value for the settlement history of the city of Nideggen and provides information about working and production conditions as well as the way of life at that time.
The mill is registered under No. 006 in the list of monuments of the city of Nideggen .
