Göriach is a group of the community of Schlaiten in East Tyrol . The village is located high above the Isel valley on the slopes of the Moschumandl .
geography
Göriach is located around one and a half kilometers northwest of the center of Schlaiten. It stretches across the slopes of the Moschumandl and includes the farms Ausgoing, Gant, Gridling, Gruben, Innergonig, Obertschellnig, Pedarnig, Plattner, Untertschellnig and Zischger. In the south, the Göriacher Bach separates the village from the Schlaiten district of Gantschach . In the midst of the scattered courtyards is the chapel hll. Chrysanth and Daria, west of the Innergoing and Außergoing farms in the middle of the Göriach Forest, the chapel of the Good Shepherd.
history
Göriach is first mentioned in 1385 in connection with a Perthold from Goriach . The name is a derived resident name gorjane and is derived from the Slavic gora (mountain, mountain forest).
In 1991 Göriach consisted of 16 buildings with 13 households and 10 agricultural and forestry facilities. The population was 71 people.
