Günter Böhme (politician, 1943)

Günter Böhme (born July 16, 1943 in Heidenau ) is a former SED functionary and politician as well as a functionary of the FDJ . He was a member of the People's Chamber and head of department in the Central Committee of the SED .

Life

Böhme came from a working class family. As a student in a high school, he joined the FDJ in 1957. After finishing school, he completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural skilled worker with high school diploma at VEG Siethen between 1960 and 1963 . While still in training, he became a member of the SED in 1961.

After completing his training, however, he did not practice the profession he had learned, but became a full-time functionary of the FDJ as early as 1963 and initially worked in 1963/64 as secretary of the FDJ district leadership in Zossen . After studying for a year at the Komsomol University in Moscow , he became first secretary of the FDJ district leadership in Zossen in 1965 and then served as second secretary of the FDJ district leadership in Potsdam from 1967 to 1969 . From 1969 to 1973 he was the first secretary of the FDJ district leadership in Potsdam and in this function belonged to the SED district leadership , including the secretariat of the SED district leadership.

In 1973 he changed to the office of the Central Council of the FDJ and was also secretary of the Central Council until 1982. At the same time, as a representative of the FDJ, Böhme was also a member of the Presidium of the Federal Board of the German Gymnastics and Sport Federation and the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of the GDR as well as the Presidium of the Federal Board of the FDGB . In 1977/78 he graduated from the party college "Karl Marx" .

In 1983 Böhme began his work in the central party apparatus of the SED as deputy head of the State and Law Department of the Central Committee (ZK) of the SED and was then for a short time in 1989 - as the successor to Klaus Sorgenicht - head of this department.

From 1965 to 1969 Böhme was a member of the Zossen district assembly , from 1971 to 1973 a member of the Potsdam district assembly and was a member of the People's Chamber from 1976 to March 1990. He headed the FDJ parliamentary group from 1976 to 1982 and was a member of the youth committee until 1986, after which he was deputy chairman of the budget and finance committee. His successor as chairman of the FDJ parliamentary group was Hans-Joachim Willerding in 1982 .
