Günter Linke

Günter Linke (born June 4, 1906 in Berlin ; † February 20, 1984 there ) was a German politician ( DVP , DNVP , CDU ).

Life

Born as the son of a dentist, Linke studied law , history , art history and newspaper studies in Berlin , Leipzig and Bonn after attending the Falk Realgymnasium in Berlin . During his studies he became a member of the Hevellia Berlin fraternity in 1925 and joined the DVP in 1927. After graduating, he worked as a journalist . From 1932 he belonged to the German National People's Party . He took part in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945.

Released from captivity in 1946 , Linke joined the CDU. He worked in a trading company . From 1948 to 1954 he was a district councilor in the Tiergarten district and from 1955 district councilor in Tiergarten. From 1958 to 1959 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . He was head of the Department of Economics, Horticulture and Green Areas in the Horticultural Department.

He was a member of the Evangelical Central Synod Berlin-Brandenburg and deputy chairman of the Free Volksbühne Berlin . He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
