Günter Mannig

Günter Männig (born  June 22, 1928 in Hirschfelde ; †  November 25, 2008 in Leipzig ) was a German football referee and football functional .

The son of the master builder Albert Männig was a student at the Königin-Carola-Gymnasium in Leipzig. From 1952 he was active as a referee and between 1960 and 1978 led a total of 264 point and cup games for the German Football Association (DFV) of the GDR in the top division, the GDR Oberliga . In 1972 he officiated in the FDGB Cup final between FC Carl Zeiss Jena and Dynamo Dresden (2-1) and in the final of the Fuwo Cup .

Between 1962 and 1978 he was on the FIFA list as an international referee and played 93 games at this level, including five full international matches and 23 European Cup matches.

He was a member of the referee committee of the DFV of the GDR since 1986, chairman of the referee committee of the Saxon Football Association , President and Deputy Chairman of the Leipzig Football Association , of which he was an honorary member from 1998 and long-time referee starter of the regional and major leagues and the Leipzig district association.

He took part in the DFV founding meeting on May 17, 1958, as well as in the extraordinary DFB Bundestag (Association Bundestag ) on November 21, 1990 in Leipzig.

He was the bearer of the DFV plaque of honor, the DFB merit badge and the golden badge of honor of the Saxon Football Association .
