The GRG is a Germany-wide operating group of companies in the field of building cleaning . Headquarters of the group with nationwide over 4,300 employees with 110 different nationalities (as of 2019) is Berlin .

GRG Services Berlin is the parent company of the group of companies.

history

On February 20, 1920, Walter Schwarz founded Walter Schwarz Glasreinigung in Berlin. His first customer was the Hermann Tietz (Hertie) department store . In 1930 the company was renamed "GRG - Großberliner ReinigungsGesellschaft" and converted into a GmbH . In 1970, the founding son Hans-Jochen Schwarz took over the management of the family company. In 1971 the first offshoot outside Berlin, the GRG Hamburg, was founded. In 1990, after the reunification, a branch was opened in Potsdam . After the death of Hans-Jochen Schwarz in January 1996, founding grandson Stephan Schwarz took over the management of the family business. 2000 founding grandson Heiko Schwarz took over the management of GRG Hamburg. In 2004 branches were opened in Munich and Passau . In 2011, an office in Wolfsburg was established in Lower Saxony. Hanover followed in 2013 . In 2014, GRG expanded its catchment area in Saxony by opening an office in Dresden . The Düsseldorf location followed in 2016 .

The GRG is certified in accordance with the EMAS environmental standard and OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management. Over the past few years, GRG employees have repeatedly certified their satisfaction with GRG as an employer: In 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016, GRG was named Best Employer at several of its locations. In 2018, GRG received the FOCUS TOP employer award, as the best employer in building cleaning in Germany.

The GRG will be 100 years old on February 20, 2020. Just in time for the 100th anniversary, the GRG also cracked the 100 million euro turnover mark. The anniversary year is dominated by the future topics of digitization and sustainability, both of which are major drivers in GRG's day-to-day business. In addition to these two focus topics, one thing remains very clearly in the focus: the employees of the GRG. That is why the GRG praises its employees and thanks them for the outstanding work they do every day. As a thank you, GRG is celebrating a lavish party with all employees in its anniversary year.

Memberships and engagement

The managing partner Stephan Schwarz was honorary president of the Berlin Chamber of Crafts from 2003 to 2019 . As a member of the board of the Federal Guild Association of the Building Cleaning Trade, he was also elected to the Presidium of the Central Association of German Crafts. Participation in the guild work is expressed through membership in the federal guild association of the building cleaning trade and the local building cleaning guilds in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Passau and Potsdam.

In Berlin, the GRG participates in Berlin Partner for Business and Technology and the Health City of Berlin . As a family company, the group is also a member of the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists . Furthermore, the GRG cooperates with the German Society for Quality .

The GRG is a signatory to the Diversity Charter . The group of companies also makes donations to several non-profit organizations in Berlin. In Hamburg, the company is also a partner in the environmental partnership .
