The Berlin Partner of Economics and Technology GmbH (Berlin Partners) is a public-private partnership for economic and technological assistance in the Land Berlin . The society is supported by the state of Berlin, chambers, associations and companies. As part of location marketing, the company is responsible for the international capital city campaign be Berlin .

Berlin Partner informs companies and investors u. a. on funding opportunities, advises on the search for a suitable location or qualified personnel and networks with cooperation partners from science. The approximately 200 employees (as of 2018) are located in the Ludwig-Erhard-Haus , where the co-partner IHK Berlin is also based.

history

The company was founded in 1994 as a partner for Berlin Gesellschaft für Hauptstadt Marketing mbH to promote location in the state of Berlin. A planned merger with the Brandenburg Economic Development Agency, the Brandenburg Future Agency, failed in 2007 because Berlin is said to have feared that a joint company would ultimately benefit Brandenburg more than Berlin. In June 2013 , the Berlin Partner business development agency finally merged with the innovation agency of the Berlin Technology Foundation to form Berlin Partner for Business and Technology GmbH .

Fields of activity

Business development and technology development are the focus of Berlin Partner's work. To this end, the company conducts public surveys on the image of Berlin as a business location and offers companies and investors service and support in settling in Berlin and in growing the location.

Stefan Franzke is the managing director of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. He advertises the growing technology and business location of the German capital, supports local companies and convinces international investors of Berlin's potential. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover, Franzke was Managing Director at the Institute for Integrated Production in Hanover. As head of the Innovation Center Lower Saxony, he deepened his know-how in strategy consulting on innovations and key technologies from 2003 and advised international investors on the settlement. In addition, since 2006, as managing director of Innovatives Niedersachsen, he was responsible for national and international marketing in the state. In July 2014 Franzke moved to the top of Berlin Partner.
