Henriette Elisabeth Joop , known as Jette Joop (born February 17, 1968 in Braunschweig ), is a German jewelry and fashion designer .

Life

Jette Joop is the daughter of the fashion designer Wolfgang Joop and his former wife, the journalist Karin Joop-Metz . Jette Joop grew up with her younger sister Florentine (* 1973) in Hamburg and moved to Oxford / England at the age of 17 , where she graduated from high school. In 1989 she studied first in Switzerland , then industrial design at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design in California . After completing his studies, he worked for designers Barry Kieselstein-Cord (1992 to 1995) and Ralph Lauren (1996) in New York .

Back in Hamburg in 1996, Jette Joop started her own business and founded her own company Jette Joop Europe (15 employees), which is now called JETTE GmbH . This works together with cooperation partners, including Christ / Douglas , Müller & Meirer, Coty Inc. and WMF . Jette Joop now designs jewelry, shoes, bags, women's and men's fashion, perfumes and beds. Your Jette Concept Store in Berlin was named Store of the Year 2011 .
Their first cutlery has been on the market since 2009 in cooperation with WMF. In 2003 Jette Joop was a substitute professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen . Also in 2003 she designed a Hans Hummel sculpture .

In 2007 Jette Joop designed the new uniform for the German airline Air Berlin . In 2010 she designed the new officer's uniform for the German AIDA Cruises and named their ship AIDAblu in the port of Hamburg on February 9, 2010 . In April 2010, Jette Joop designed the workwear for the GRG Services Group , which is mainly active in building cleaning, and made headlines across Germany.

She has a daughter (* 1997). The father is Alessandro Spitzy, a geophysicist with whom she shared the upbringing of the child. After a liaison with Alexander zu Schaumburg-Lippe from 2001 to 2004, she married Christian Elsen in February 2008. The two have a son (* 2009). The couple split in 2013.

Joop works as a children's ambassador for the Red Cross . In addition, she supported the awareness campaign on HPV ( human papilloma virus ) of the German Green Cross (DGK). Jette Joop is a CDU member and took part in the 12th Federal Assembly (2004) for the election of the Federal President.

On August 6, 2018, the TV show Young, Female, Boss , moderated by Joop, was first broadcast on RTL II . On August 15, 2018, RTL II stopped the show after two editions because of "disastrous ratings".
