Gaëtan Karlen (born June 7, 1993 in Sion ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with Neuchâtel Xamax .

Career

Gaëtan Karlen was born in Sion and came to the youth academy of the local FC Sion , where he started playing football. In 2013 the striker was accepted into the club's first team by the U-21 squad. He made his debut away against Servette FC Genève , which was lost 4-0. He scored his first goal in the last game of the 2012/13 season against FC Zurich to mean 3-2, with FC Sion ultimately winning 4-2.

In the winter of the 2013/14 season , Karlen was loaned to FC Biel / Bienne in order to collect match practice. It scored 9 goals in 17 games.

In the first half of the 2014/15 season he moved back to FC Sion. In the second half of the same season he moved to league rivals FC Thun . After a move to FC Biel-Bienne and a season there, Karlen moved to Neuchâtel Xamax .
