The Gabler is a 3263  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the eastern Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Salzburg , municipality of Krimml , 200 meters east of the border with Tyrol (municipality of Brandberg ). It belongs to the Reichenspitz group , neighboring mountains are Reichenspitze (3303 m), Richterspitze (3052 m) and Wildgerlosspitze (3280 m).

Mountaineers on the Gabler

The ski tour on the Gabler is one of the great spring tours in the Eastern Alps. The ascent takes place on the north side of the Gerlospass, past the Durlassboden reservoir to the Finkau inn (open all year round), then via the Triessel-Alm into the Wildgerlostal to the Zittauer Hütte . From there up to approx. 3000 m to the large snow crust and to the bald head. From the ski depot on foot to the summit ( difficulty level II ).
