Gabri , whose full name is Gabriel Francisco García de la Torre (born February 10, 1979 in Sallent de Llobregat ), is a former Spanish footballer. The midfielder was trained at FC Barcelona's youth academy and played for the club's first team for seven years. He was under contract with FC Lausanne-Sport until 2014 .

The Spaniard comes from the youth team of FC Barcelona and won a regular place in the blue-reds , mainly through strong performances in the Champions League . Gabri played mainly in the right midfield for the Catalans. His great strengths are his diligence in the game and his enormous fighting power. Gabri's discoverer was Louis van Gaal . The midfielder was in the FC Barcelona squad for a total of seven years. In 2006 he signed a three-year contract with Ajax Amsterdam . In 2007 he extended his contract for another two years until 2011. In the 2007 Dutch Super Cup, he scored the only goal of the day for Ajax's victory over PSV Eindhoven .

In the summer of 2010 Gabriella moved to Umm-Salal SC in the Qatar Stars League . After this season he joined the Swiss club FC Sion . After he was initially without a club, he moved to FC Lausanne-Sport for the 2012/13 season .

National team

Gabriella was one of the key players in winning the 1999 World Junior Cup with the Spanish youth team. For the A-national team midfielder came three times previously used. He made his debut on April 30, 2003 in a friendly against Ecuador . The following year Gabriella was nominated for the European Football Championship , but was not used in Iñaki Sáez's team. Since then he has not been called up for the Spain national team.
