Gabriel Hanotaux
Albert Auguste Gabriel Hanotaux (born November 9, 1853 in Beaurevoir , Département Aisne , † April 11, 1944 in Paris ) was a French historian . From 1893 to 1895 and from 1896 to 1898 he held the post of Foreign Minister and in 1898 that of France's Colonial Minister and thus also played a role in the settlement of the Tunis conflict with Italy.
Hanotaux, who belonged to the republican camp, wrote works on Richelieu , Jeanne d'Arc and Ferdinand Foch, as well as an important contemporary history of France (1903-1908).
