Gabriella Brum
Gabriella Brum (born March 22, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former photo model and a beauty queen of German- British origin.
Life
Brum's mother had met the British soldier Edward Brum from London in West Berlin in 1961 , but separated from him after a few years and was later called Angelika Roure. Their daughter Gabriella Brum attended Lessing-Gymnasium in West Berlin from 1976 to 1980 , but dropped out of school in order to pursue a film career. She had met the 52-year-old director, cameraman and producer Wolfgang Benno Bellenbaum (1928–1984), who worked under various pseudonyms , with whom she went to Los Angeles (USA), where she worked as a photo model.
Miss Germany (1980)
On June 26, 1980, Brum was crowned Miss Germany in the International Congress Center (ICC) in West Berlin . A Zeit article from July 1980 shows that her election as Miss Germany met with criticism. It was objected that Brum no longer had his main residence in Germany, and the wife of a friend of Wolfgang Benno Bellenbaum was obviously on the jury.
Miss World (1980)
On November 13th of the same year, Brum won the Miss World election in London and was the second German holder of this title after Petra Schürmann . She was followed as the title holder by the runner-up Kimberley Santos from Guam with a cash prize of 12,000 US dollars and business contracts worth 36,000 US dollars. The next day Brum resigned on the grounds that her boyfriend did not agree with her new obligations; she voluntarily returned her title after 18 hours because she “wanted to be with Benno instead of flying around the world for a year under a strict contract.” According to later allegations, she had been forced to resign because there were nude photos of her. In an interview with Der Spiegel , the photographer Wolfgang Heilemann confessed to being the author of these photos. The series was intended for Paris Match magazine .
Living in the United States
In the early years, Brum was successful as a model in the United States. Among other things, recordings of her appeared in Playboy 5/1981. Originally intended successes in the film industry cannot be found.
In 1981 she married Wolfgang Benno Bellenbaum in North Hollywood - best man was Peter Joosten. Both soon lived separately. Her husband shot himself at his home in Encino , a Los Angeles neighborhood , at the age of 55 . His body was identified by Brum. A farewell letter was found next to the murder weapon.
An article on the United States Online News (USSPost) platform from January 2012 indicates that she was still based in Los Angeles at the time. According to the information in her Stayfriends profile, Brum is still living in the United States today.
