Wolfgang "Bubi" Heilemann (born October 7, 1942 in Zielkeim , Samland district , East Prussia ) is a German photographer . He was best known as the “rock photographer” of well-known artists of the 1960s and 1970s.

Live and act

After the war, Wolfgang Heilemann came to Hanover with his family , where he learned to be a specialist in photography and attended a photography school. In 1965 he became editor of Rolf Kauka's magazine " Lupo modern " in Munich . Later he devoted himself to photography again and became a photographer for the magazine "OK", which was taken over by Bravo , for which Wolfgang Heilemann became one of the star photographers. He photographed over 250 cover photos and Bravo star cuts and portrayed groups and artists such as ABBA , Roy Black , AC / DC , the Bay City Rollers , Rod Stewart , The Sweet and Alice Cooper , whom he accompanied on his tours from 1973 to 1975. He was able to photograph the artists on stage as well as in the studio, backstage and at home .

In 1980 Wolfgang Heilemann became deputy editor-in-chief of Bravo. In 1983 he became program manager at Bauer TV , where he developed the program Bravo TV . In 1991 he worked for the Federal Center for Health Education on the film about addiction prevention Better free than high. With.
