Petrowo ( Russian Петрово , German Zielkeim ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .
Geographical location
Petrowo is located twelve kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on the municipal road 27K-179 from Cholmogorowka (Fuchsberg) to Kowrowo (Nautzau) . The nearest train station is Druzhnoye-Sapadnoye (Mednicken) on the Kaliningrad-Svetlogorsk railway line , the former Samland Railway .
history
The Gutsdorf, which was called Zielkeim until 1946 (around 1785 also Klein Zielkeim as opposed to Groß Zielkeim , also Absintkeim ) dates back to 1347 when it was founded. On June 4, 1907, the estate district Zielkeim was formed from the zu Groß Mischen (Russian: Swobodnoje) Gutsdorf Zielkeim together with the Vorwerk Backelfeld (Kuznetskoye) , which became the administrative district Groß Mischen (Swobodnoje) in the district of Fischhausen (1939 to 1945 district of Samland ) in Königsberg district belonged to the Prussian province of East Prussia .
In 1910 Zielkeim had 153 inhabitants. On September 30, 1928, the village lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Groß Mischen (Russian: Swobodnoje).
In 1945 Zielkeim came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . The place was given the Russian name Petrovo in 1947 and was assigned to the village soviet Matrossowski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place came into the Kutusowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 Petrovo belonged to the rural municipality of Kutuzovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

The population of Zielkeims was predominantly Protestant before 1945 and parish in the parish of the parish church in Wargen (Russian: Kotelnikowo). It belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Max Schmidt . Today Petrowo is in the catchment area of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
