Starorusskoje ( Russian Старорусское , German  Eythienen ) is a rural settlement in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Starorusskoje is not far from the south bank of the Curonian Lagoon, one kilometer south of Kaschirskoje (Schaaksvitte) on the municipal road 27K-053 and 26 km northeast of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) .

history

Eythienen was founded about 1405 and was until 1945 the district Samland in the administrative district of Konigsberg in East Prussia . In 1939 it had 270 inhabitants.

After the area was annexed to the Soviet Union , the village received the status of a rural settlement (possjolok) . In 1950 it was given the Russian name Starorusskoje (starorusski = Old Russian) and was assigned to the village soviet Kaschirski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . In 1954 Starorusskoje got into the Marschalski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 the place belonged to the rural municipality Khrabrowskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district Guryevsk.

Until 1945 the majority Protestant population of Eythienens was parish in the parish of Schaaken with seat in the church of Schaaken (Russian: Schemtschuschnoje). It belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Starorusskoje lies in the catchment area of ​​the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Marschalskoje (Gallgarben) . It is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
