Newskoje ( Russian Невское , initially Alexandro-Newskoje, German Kummerau , also Cummerau ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It is located in Guryevsk Raion and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk district .
Geographical location
The place is located northeast of the city of Kaliningrad and merges directly into it. The border runs along Starosapernia ul. (Formerly Funkerweg and Kummerauer Str. ), Surikowa ul. And Starokamennaja ul. (Extension of the Alt Kummerau street ).
Place name
The place is named after the Russian prince Alexander Nevsky .
history
The place was founded before 1337. In 1874 the rural community of Cummerau was classified in the district of Quednau within the district of Königsberg . In 1910 the rural community had 114 inhabitants. In 1927 the rural community of Cummerau was incorporated into the city of Königsberg . After the Second World War, the Königsberg districts (Alt-) Rothenstein and Kummerau were combined under the name Alexandro-Newskoje in 1949. The eastern part of Kummerau was spun off from the city of Kaliningrad in 1950 (or later) and under the name Alexandro-Nevskoye, the administrative seat of the village soviet Kutuzovsky selski sovet in Guryevsk Raion, established in 1950 . Before 1975 the name was shortened to Newskoje . From 2008 to 2013 the place belonged to the rural municipality Kutuzovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district Gurjewsk.
