Sosnowka ( Russian Сосновка , German  Kaveling ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Sosnowka is 14 kilometers southeast of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , south of the Kaliningrad – Chernyshevskoje railway (section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway ) and two kilometers from Rybnoye (on the regional road 27A-025 (ex R508 )). The nearest train station is Lugowoje-Novoje on the above railway line.

history

The Kaveling (before 1820 Kaweling , before 1910 Caveling ) called Gutsdorf came in 1874 to the newly established district Steinbeck (today Russian: Rybnoje) and until 1945 belonged to the district of Königsberg (Prussia) (1939 to 1945 district of Samland ) in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province East Prussia . In 1910 the village had 70 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, Kaveling lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Steinbeck (Rybnoje).

As a result of the Second World War , northern East Prussia and with it Kaveling came to the Soviet Union . In 1950 the place was given the Russian name Roschtschino and at the same time was assigned to the village soviet Selenopolski selski Sowet in Kaliningrad Raion . Later the place came to the Lugowskoi selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . From 2008 to 2013 Sosnovka belonged to the rural municipality Lugovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

Kaveling, with its almost exclusively Protestant population, was part of the parish Steinbeck - Neuendorf (Russian: Rybnoje - Rschewskoje) until 1945 . That belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land I in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Viktor Felix Reiss .

Today Sosnowka is in the catchment area of ​​the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . It is assigned to the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
