Saizewo ( Russian Зайцево , German  Trentitten ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Saizewo is 17 kilometers north of the city of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) and can be reached via the regional road 27A-001 (ex A191 ) in the Morschanskoje (Schreitlacken) junction . The nearest train station is Kaschtanowka (Mollehnen) on the Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionersky railway (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) .

history

The village, called Trentitten until 1946 , was founded in 1262 and before 1945 consisted of several large farms. In 1874 it was in the newly created District Schugsten (Russian Today: Beryozovka) incorporated, which the district Fischhausen in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 there were 126 inhabitants in Trentitten.

On September 30, 1928, the municipal area of ​​Trentitten expanded to include the neighboring village of Schreitlacken (Russian: Morschanskoje), which was incorporated. Due to the dissolution of the administrative district of Schugsten, Trentitten and the neighboring municipality of Norgehnen (1938 to 1946 renamed Schugsten , now Russian: Schatrowo ) were reclassified to the administrative district of Fritzen (Sosnowka). He too belonged to the district of Fischhausen , which then became part of the Samland district in 1939 . The population of Trento rose to 554 by 1933 and was 555 in 1939.

In 1945, Trentitten and northern East Prussia became part of the Soviet Union . The place received the Russian name Saizewo in 1947 and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Novoselski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place came into the Chrabrowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 Saizewo belonged to the rural municipality Khrabrowskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

Before 1945 the population of Trento was almost without exception Protestant denomination and parish in the parish of Laptau (today Russian: Muromskoje). It belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
