Wassiljewskoje ( Russian Васильевское , German  Wesselshöfen ) is a rural settlement in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Wassiljewskoje is located 26 kilometers northeast of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) not far from the south bank of the Curonian Lagoon (Russian: Kurschski Saliw) about one kilometer east of Starorusskoje (Eythienen) , from where it can be reached via the municipal road 27K-209. A railway connection no longer exists since the Prawten – Schaaksvitte (Lomonossowo – Kaschirskoje) railway of the Königsberg Kleinbahn with the Eythienen (Starorusskoje) station is no longer in operation.

history

The to 1946 Wessel courts called Good , farm and Vorwerk in 1874 as Gutsbezirk in the newly built office district (not more domain Gutsbezirk today existent) incorporated Schaaken and belonged until 1939 to the district Königsberg (Prussia) from 1939 to 1945 County Samland in Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910, 132 people lived here. On November 15, 1928, Wesselshöfen lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Eythienen (Russian: Starorusskoje).

As a result of the Second World War , Wesselshöfen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . In 1950 the place was given the Russian name Wassiljewskoje and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Kaschirski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . In 1954 Vasilyevskoye got into the Marschalski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 the place belonged to the rural municipality Khrabrowskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district Guryevsk.

The predominantly Protestant population of Wesselhöfen was parish into the parish of Schaaken until 1945 . In church Schaaken (Russian: Schemtschuschnoje) was the church and belonged to the church district Königsberg Country II within the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Prussian Union of churches .
