Orlowka ( Russian Орловка , German  Nesselbeck ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Orlowka is located in the central Samland ten kilometers north of the city center of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on the regional road 27A-001 (ex A191 ). The place has been a train station since 1885, Nesselbeck until 1945 , since then "Op7 km" (Russian: ostanowotschny point = stopping point) on the Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionerski railway (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) .

history

From the manor village known as "Nesselbeck" until 1946 , the manor district Nesselbeck was formed on October 26, 1893 within the district of Trutenau (Russian: Medwedewka) and belonged to the district of Königsberg (Prussia) until 1939 , then until 1945 to the district of Samland in the district of Königsberg of the Prussian East Prussia Province . The Nesselbeck estate belonged to the von Schendorff family for centuries .

In 1910 Nesselbeck had 184 inhabitants. On September 30, 1928, the village lost its independence and was incorporated into Trutenau (Medwedewka).

As a result of the Second World War , Nesselbeck came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . The place received the Russian name Orlowka in 1947 and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Matrossowski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place came into the Kutusowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 Orlovka belonged to the rural municipality of Kutuzovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

The former manor house has recently been restored, as have some stables that now house a horse boarding house. In the former pigsty there is now a summer restaurant.

Until 1945 the almost exclusively Protestant population of Nesselbeck was parish in the parish of the parish church in Quednau (Russian: Severnaya Gora), today located in the Leningrad Rajon of the city of Kaliningrad. It belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Johann Gustav Brehm . Today Orlowka is located in the catchment area of ​​the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
