The Communauté d'agglomération de Saint-Omer was a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . The administrative seat was in Longuenesse .

Historical development

On November 20, 1962, the municipalities of Saint-Omer and Longuenesse merged to form a District Urbain , which was gradually joined by other municipalities: Saint Martin au Laert 1965, Arques, Blendecques, Campagne-lès-Wardrecques, Clairmarais, Hallines, Helfaut, Tatinghem and Wizernes 1966, Salperwick 1970, and Éperlecques, Houlle, Moringhem, Moulle, Serques and Tilques 1972.

In 1972 the District Urbain became the District de la Région de Saint-Omer , later the Communauté d'agglomération de Saint-Omer (CASO)

It last consisted of 25 communities. On January 1, 2017, the community association was with

merged to form the Communauté d'agglomération du Pays de Saint-Omer .
