Clairmarais (Flemish: Klommeres ) is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Saint-Omer arrondissement and the Saint-Omer canton ( canton Saint-Omer-Nord until 2015 ).
The municipality is part of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park . It is bordered by Nieurlet to the northwest , Noordpeene to the north, Zuytpeene to the northeast, Bavinchove to the east, Renescure to the southeast, Arques to the south and Saint-Omer to the west . The residents call themselves Clairmaraisiens.
