Monika Michalko
Monika Michalko (* 1982 in Sokolov ) is a German painter .
life and work
Monika Michalko studied Fine Art at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Norbert Schwontkowski from 2003 to 2009 . In her spun dream landscapes there are echoes of classical modernism from Malevich to Klee as well as references to Joan Miró and the brothers Gert & Uwe Tobias . The color-intensive panel paintings are also sustainably shaped by trips to Egypt , India , Sri Lanka and Turkey . Michalko also integrates collected impressions into her paintings and prints using typical ornaments and architectural forms. In her surreal beings and objects, the order of surface and space seems to be almost abolished. Monika Michalko lives and works in Sri Jayawardenapura and Berlin .
