Lugowoje ( Russian Луговое , German  Gutenfeld (East Prussia) , Lithuanian Lablaukis ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It is located in Guryevsk Rajon and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk district .

Geographical location

Lugowoje is located southeast of the Rajons capital Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and is ten kilometers from the city center. The Russian trunk road A 196 (former German Reichsstrasse 131 ) runs through the place, which connects Kaliningrad with Prawdinsk (Friedland (East Prussia)) , Schelesnodoroschny (Gerdauen) and Krylowo (Nordenburg) and continues to Poland . In Lugowoje the trunk road R 508 from the east of northeast Prussia meets the A 196 coming via Snamensk (Wehlau). With the Lugowoje Nowoje train station, the place is on the railway line from Kaliningrad via Chernyachowsk (Insterburg) and Gussew (Gumbinnen) to Nesterow (Stallupönen) , 1938–1946 Ebenrode ) for onward travel to Lithuania , which is a section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway . Until 1945 there was also a connection to the Königsberg – Angerburg railway line .

history

The village, called Gutenfeld before 1946 (after 1820 also Guttenfeld ), had a larger sheep farm until 1945 , which was 2.5 kilometers southeast of the village. In 1874 Gutenfeld was incorporated into the district of Steinbeck (today's Russian: Rybnoje), which until 1945 belonged to the Königsberg district (Prussia) (1939 to 1945 Samland district ) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1885 there were 590 inhabitants registered in Gutenfeld. Their number was 521 in 1910, rose to 909 by 1933 and amounted to 1335 in 1939, while today 1716 inhabitants live in Lugowoje, and 1084 inhabitants in Maloje Lugowoje , the former imperial settlement (as of October 14, 2010).

Gutenfeld Air Base was located here between 1936 and 1945 .

In 1945, as a result of World War II , Gutenfeld came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and in 1947 was named Lugowoje after the Russian word lug for meadow . At the same time the place was classified in the village soviet Selenopolski selski Sowet in Kaliningrad Raion . Since 1959 Lugowoje itself was the seat of a village soviet, first in Bagrationovsk district , and since 1965 in Guryevsk district . From 2008 to 2013, the place was the seat of a rural community and has since been part of the Gurjewsk urban district after its dissolution.

Lugowskoi selski Sowet / okrug (1947–) 2008

The village soviet was established in June 1947 as Selenopolski selski Sowet (ru. Зеленополский сельский Совет) in Guryevsk Raion. Its administrative seat was initially the place Zelenopolje . In July 1947, the village soviet came to the newly formed Kaliningrad Raion . In 1954 the Selenopolski selski Sowet was connected to the Komsomolski selski Sowet . After the dissolution of the Kaliningrad Rajon in 1959, the area of the former Zelenopolski selski Sowet was converted together with the Chekhovsky selski Sowet into the newly formed Lugowskoi selski Sowet (ru. Луговской сельский Совет). This village soviet was now in Bagrationovsk Raion . In 1965 or 1966, the Lugowskoi selski Sowet was (essentially) restricted to the area that the original Zelenopolski selski Sowet had covered. The Lugowskoi selski Sowet was (again) in Guryevsk Raion. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the administrative unit existed as the village district Lugowskoi selski okrug (ru. Луговской сельский округ). In 2008 the village district was transformed into the rural municipality Lugovskoye selskoje posselenije.
