Schatrowo ( Russian Шатрово , German  Norgehnen , 1938–1945 Schugsten ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Shatrowo is located 15 kilometers north of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and can be reached via the regional road 27A-001 (ex A191 ) from Kaliningrad via Orlowka (Nesselbeck) to Zelenogradsk (Cranz) via the junction not far from Muromskoje (Laptau) . There is a rail connection via the Muromskoje station on the Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionersky line (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) .

The Gutsdorf, known as Norgehnen until 1938 , was incorporated into the newly established district of Schugsten (Russian: Berjosowka) in 1874. It existed until 1930 and was part of the district Fischhausen in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1817 there were 7 fireplaces in Norgehnen with 68 souls, in 1910 85 inhabitants were registered here.

On January 1, 1929, the three manor districts edges (Russian: Jelniki), Schugsten (Berjosowka) and Norgehnen merged to form the new rural community of Norgehnen. On April 23, 1930, the municipality of Norgehnen was incorporated into the neighboring district of Fritzen (Russian: Sosnowka) and the district of Schugsten was dissolved. The population of Norgehnens was already 348 in 1933 and - after the place was renamed "Schugsten" on January 1, 1938 - 536 in 1939. To distinguish it from the Schugsten ("southern estate") attached in 1929, Norgehnen was now called Schugsten, northern estate .

As a result of the war, northern East Prussia came to the Soviet Union . The former Norgehnen was given the Russian name Shatrovo in 1947 and was assigned to the village soviet Matrossowski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place belonged to the Chrabrowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 Shatrovo belonged to the Khrabrowskoje selskoje posselenije rural community and since then to the Guryevsk district.
