Orechowka ( Russian Ореховка , German  Poduhren ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Orechowka is 14 kilometers northeast of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) on the municipal road 27K-128, which branches off from the municipal road 27K-070 coming from Saosjorje (Laptau) and leads to Jaroslawskoje (Schönwalde) . Until 1945 Gamsau (Russian: Podgornoje) was the next train station on the line from Königsberg (Prussia), which is no longer in operation, via Possinder (Russian: Roschtschino) to Tapiau (Gwardeisk) of the Königsberg small railway .

history

The former Gutsdorf, known as " Poduhren " until 1946, was incorporated into the then newly established district of Groß Legden (Russian: Dobroje) from 1874 to 1945 and thus belonged to the Königsberg district (Prussia) (1939 to 1945 Samland district ) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province East Prussia . In 1910 the Poduhren manor district had 131 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, Poduhren gave up its independence when it was incorporated into the rural community of Mantau (Russian: Jastrebki, no longer exists today).

In 1945 Poduhren came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Orechowo and was assigned at the same time to the village Soviet Jaroslawski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place came to the Nisowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2013 Orechowo belonged to the rural municipality of Nizovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

The population of Poduhren was almost without exception Protestant denomination until 1945 . The place was in the parish of the church in Arnau (Russian: Rodniki) and belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Arthur Brodowski .

Today's Orechowka is in the catchment area of ​​the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , which was built in the 1990s and belongs to the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
