Morgunowo ( Russian Моргуново , German  Langendorf, Koenigsberg / Samland district ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk District in Guryevsk Raion .

Geographical location

Morgunowo is located 23 kilometers northeast of the oblast capital Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on a side road that leads from Bajewka (Kuikeim) not far from the regional road 27A-024 (ex A190 ) via Uroschainoje (Lethenen) to Novgorodskoje (Mettkeim) . The nearest train station is Bajewka on the Kaliningrad – Sovetsk railway line (Königsberg – Tilsit) .

history

The village, called Langendorf until 1946 , belonged between 1874 and 1945 to the Damerau district (today in Russian: Sokolowka) in the Königsberg district (Prussia) (1939 to 1945 Samland district ) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1945 Langendorf came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . In 1947 the place received the Russian name Morgunowo and was assigned to the village soviet Dobrinski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . From 2008 to 2013 Morgunowo belonged to the rural municipality Dobrinskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.

The predominantly Protestant Langendorf was assigned to the parish Schönwalde (today Russian: Jaroslawskoje) before 1945 . It belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II (north of the Pregel ) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Pastor Georg Mudrack was the last German clergyman .

Today Morgunowo is in the catchment area of ​​the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Marschalskoje (Gallgarben) , a branch of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
