history

In the 18th century, mirror grinding and polishing works were created at Zottbach. Together with Danzerschleif, Hagenmühle and Bartlmühle, Galsterlohe was one of the oldest of these mirror loops. These grinding works obtained raw glass from Bohemia and from the glassworks in Frankenreuth . Nuremberg and Fürth were the main buyers for the cut glasses and mirrors.

At the end of the 18th century, Galsterlohe with 16 families and Rehberg with 17 families formed the community of Rehberg.

In 1808 tax districts were formed. Dimpfl was a tax district. In addition to Dimpfl itself, the Dimpfl district included the villages of Faislbach, Rehberg and Vorderbrünst, the hamlet of Neuenhammer and the deserted areas of Galsterlohe and Hammermühle.

In 1830 the municipality of Rehberg was incorporated into the municipality of Dimpfl. This brought Galsterlohe to the community of Dimpfl. The municipality of Dimpfl included Dimpfl itself, Galsterlohe, Hammermühle, Kühtränk, Papiermühle, Prollermühle, Rehberg, Rehlohe and Schmidtlerschleif.

In 1832 Baptist Schedl expanded his grinding plant in Galsterlohe. At that time, Baptist Schedl was the owner of the glassworks in Frankenreuth . In 1844 there were two glass loops in Galsterlohe, and in 1855 there were three.

In 1867 Galsterlohe had 69 residents and 10 buildings. Ziegelhütte was included in Galsterlohe. Galsterlohe belonged to the municipality of Dimpfl to which apart from Dimpfl itself with 123 inhabitants and 39 buildings, hammer mill with 11 inhabitants and 3 buildings, Kühtränk with 11 inhabitants and 4 buildings, paper mill with 12 inhabitants and 4 buildings, Prollermühle with 6 residents and 4 buildings, Rehberg with 94 residents and 24 buildings, Rehloh with 9 residents and 3 buildings, Schmidtlerschleif with 25 residents and 4 buildings.

In 1887 the company Kupfer & Glaser operated a mirror loop in Galsterlohe.

In 1970 a referendum on voluntary territorial reform took place. As a result, on January 1, 1971, the community of Dimpfl was incorporated into Georgenberg. This is how Galsterlohe came to the community of Georgenberg.

At these bridges, the Glasschleiferweg changes from the southern side of the Zottbach near Unterrehberg to the northern side of the Zottbach near Galsterlohe. This hiking trail leads north from the Zottbach between Weiherberg and Ziegelberg to the 7-Insel-Weiher. There it winds west around the Weiherberg and finally south back to the Zottbach. Via Neuenhammer and Hagenmühle it runs along the Zottbach to Pleystein. In a northerly direction it runs along the Zottbach via Unterrehberg and Danzerschleif to Georgenberg.
