Georgenberg is a municipality and a town in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab , near the border with the Czech Republic , it is a member of the Pleystein administrative community .

Geographical location
The community is located directly on the border with Bohemia in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park , which reaches heights of up to 700 m there. The neighboring Czech communities are Lesná and Česká Ves (formerly Bohemian village ).

history
Until the church is planted
Since the middle of the 16th century, Georgenberg was in the dominion of Waldthurn a subordinate place of the duchy imperial county of Störnstein under the princes Lobkowitz and after the Rheinbund act of 1806 it came to the Kingdom of Bavaria by purchase . In 1848 the inheritance of the residents ended. In the course of an administrative reform after the First World War, the municipality of Georgenberg was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
In October 1970 there was a vote as part of a regional reform . On January 1, 1971, the former communities of Brünst, Dimpfl, Neudorf and Waldkirch were incorporated into the community of Georgenberg. Territories of the dissolved Bernrieth community were added on January 1, 1972. Parts of the dissolved community of Reinhardsrieth followed on July 1, 1976.
