On May 25, 2014 Thorsten Hallmann (SPD) was elected mayor with 56.7 percent of the vote. Alfons Przetak (CSU) was appointed second mayor by the local council. Hallmann followed Peter Nößner (CSU). Nößner died suddenly and unexpectedly on February 20, 2014 at the age of 50.

Municipal council

The local council in Schwarzenbach consists of twelve members. In the last local election on March 16, 2014, five seats went to the SPD , four to the CSU and three to the Free Voters .
