Trabitz is a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab and a member of the Pressath community .

The place Trabitz is located in the Haidenaab valley , northwest of Pressath .

history
Until the church is planted
The area was settled by the Slavs in the 12th century . The district of Burkhardsreuth celebrated its 800th anniversary in 1986. The largest landlord in Preißach, Pichlberg and Feilersdorf was the Premonstratensian monastery Speinshart until secularization in 1803 . The Hirschberg family owned the Weihersberg estate from 1625 until the 19th century . In 1808/10 the tax district Preißach was formed, to which Trabitz also belonged. The municipality Preißach 1818 by the Gemeindeedikt built in Bavaria.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, the main town of the dissolved municipality of Pichlberg with then about 100 inhabitants (about half of the municipality's population) was incorporated. On January 1, 1975, most of Feilersdorf and Weihersberg were added. On October 20, 1978, the community of Preißach was renamed after the district of Trabitz, where the community administration has been based since 1962.

Between 1988 and 2018, the population decreased from 1362 to 1293 by 69 or 5.1%.

Established businesses
The largest employer in the municipality was the French automotive supplier Faurecia with a plant in Trabitz. The company was previously part of the Leistritz Group ( Nuremberg ) and was closed at the end of 2016.
