history

At the end of the 18th century there was a paper mill north of Neuenhammer, which formed the district of paper mill. In 1790, the Duschks took over this paper mill. The Duschks family had been running the paper mill in Ödkührieth since 1728 .

In 1814, the paper manufacturer showerk applied to the Vohenstrauss district office to convert his paper mill into a glass grinding plant. In 1855 there were two glass loops in the paper mill.

Paper mill was part of the community of Dimpfl since 1830. The municipality of Dimpfl included Dimpfl itself, Galsterlohe, Hammermühle, Kühtränk, Papiermühle, Prollermühle, Rehberg, Rehlohe and Schmidtlerschleif.

In 1867 the paper mill had 4 buildings and 12 residents. Paper mill belonged to the municipality of Dimpfl to which, apart from Dimpfl itself with 123 inhabitants and 39 buildings, there were also Galsterlohe (including brickworks) with 69 inhabitants and 10 buildings, hammer mill with 11 inhabitants and 3 buildings, Kühtränk with 11 inhabitants and 4 buildings, Prollermühle with 6 inhabitants and 4 buildings, Rehberg with 94 residents and 24 buildings, Rehloh with 9 residents and 3 buildings, Schmidtlerschleif with 25 residents and 4 buildings counted.

In the topographical-statistical manual of the Kingdom of Bavaria from 1867 and also in the Historical Atlas of Bavaria, the paper mill and Schmidtlerschleif are regarded as parts of Neuenhammer for the beginning of the 19th century. At this time, Neuenhammer was also known as Oedmühl. Papiermühle and Schmidtlerschleif do not appear in the registry of 1838, but only in the registry of 1913.

In 1970 a referendum on voluntary territorial reform took place. As a result, on January 1, 1971, the community of Dimpfl was incorporated into Georgenberg. In this way, the paper mill also came to the community of Georgenberg.
