KK Game Arts (font: GAME ARTS Co., Ltd. ) ( Japanese 株式会社 ゲ ー ム ア ー ツ , Kabushiki kaisha Gēmu Ātsu ) is a Japanese manufacturer of video games . Game Arts is known for its console role-playing games , including the Grandia and Lunar series .

history

The company was originally founded in 1985 as a PC software manufacturer, then switched to console and handheld games. The aim was to create a new dimension in video games with a focus on art. Game Arts is a member of the CESA (Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association) in Japan and cooperates with companies such as Square Enix , Bandai , Koei and Gung-Ho Online Entertainment .

The first game from Game Arts was the action game Thexder , which was released for the PC. A variety of Mahjong -related games were produced for the Japanese audience. But in the western world, Game Arts is better known for the role-playing games Grandia and Lunar . Company employees helped develop Super Smash Bros. Brawl , which was released for the Wii .

On April 22, 2009, Game Arts released the first Grandia part on PlayStation Network to promote the announcement of Grandia Online . It was also announced that the company will continue to work on Grandia parts.

In April 2016, it was announced that the team had moved to the Pacific Century Place Marunouchi building in Marunouchi , Tokyo .
