Gary Woodland (born May 21, 1984 in Topeka , Kansas ) is an American professional golfer. His biggest success so far was winning the 2019 US Open .

life and career

Woodland was born in Topeka, the capital of Kansas, and attended Shawnee Heights High School in the Tecumseh area . After high school, he attended Washburn University on a basketball scholarship. After his first year, he was able to switch to a golf scholarship. Before Woodland moved to the professional camp in 2007, he won six amateurs tournaments.

In November 2011 he won the World Cup for the USA with playing partner Matt Kuchar .
