Venues of the Gauliga Baden 1936/37 |
The Gauliga Baden 1936/37 was the fourth season of the Gauliga Baden in football . The Gauliga season started on September 6, 1936 and ended on May 9, 1937. SV Waldhof Mannheim , which was renamed SV Mannheim-Waldhof 07 in July 1936 , only lost one game - of all places against the bottom of the table and later relegated Rastatter FV 04 - and was able to successfully defend his title. The highlight of the season was the local derby at the Waldhof against VfR Mannheim, 19,000 spectators saw a 7: 4 (6: 2). However, as in the previous year, SV Waldhof did not make it beyond the group stage in the subsequent final round of the German championship . Newcomer Rastatt 04 ended up in last place. With the Karlsruher FV , as in the previous season, one of the two Karlsruhe “old masters” was relegated, with a 0-1 defeat on the last day of the match against VfL Neckarau while SpVgg Sandhofen also won against FC Freiburg , relegating them to the second division sealed. In the promotion round, the FC Phönix Karlsruhe prevailed undefeated, the second promoted to the upcoming Gauliga season was the Kehler FV .
