Location of Gebrontshausen in Bavaria |
Gebrontshausen is a district of the Wolnzach market in the Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm . The parish village is located in the fertile Tertiary hill country of the Hallertau , the largest contiguous hop growing area in the world.
history
The Catholic parish church of the Conception of the Virgin Mary is a plastered hall church with a polygonal choir closure and a southern choir flank tower with a steep saddle roof, nave and choir with lancet barrels with laterally added ridges. It dates from the 15th century, the furnishings from the 18th century. The church, also known as “Maria auf dem Weißen Berg”, characterizes the townscape of Gebrontshausen and has long been an important pilgrimage church .
In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, Gebrontshausen became an independent political municipality through the municipal edict of 1818, to which the parish village of Jebertshausen also belonged. On July 1, 1971, Gebrontshausen (with Jebertshausen) was incorporated into the Wolnzach market.
