Parish Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary

history

The name of the place Gozilhusa appears in the 10th century in an inventory of the Tegernsee Monastery . The parish church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary goes back to a Romanesque complex. Choir and sacristy were probably built around 1400. During the Spanish War of Succession in 1702, the church burned, and was rebuilt from 1710 to 1740. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, Gosseltshausen became an independent political municipality with the municipal edict of 1818, to which the village of Starzhausen and the deserted Krönmühle and Schlagenhausermühle also belonged. On July 1, 1971, the community of Gosseltshausen was incorporated into the Wolnzach market.
