Originally, Emgrand was Geely's luxury brand launched in July 2009. After the brand was discontinued in 2014, the Emgrand name became a line of products under the Geely brand. The Geely S1 is basically a heavily redesigned variant of the Emgrand EC7-RV . The vehicle was also given an off-road look. The Emgrand EC7 sedan will continue to be marketed as the Geely Emgrand EC7 . The S1 has been sold in China since November 2017.
