history
The vehicle was first introduced as the Geely SX11 at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018 . The production vehicle went on sale in China in October 2018.
In early May 2019, Geely announced a plug-in hybrid version of the Binyue. It is scheduled to hit the Chinese market in early June 2019.
The Binyue is also said to be built by the Malay brand Proton . With the Proton X70 , the manufacturer already offers a version based on the larger Geely Boyue.
technology
The SUV is the first vehicle to be presented on the Geely Group's modular BMA platform. This platform is positioned below the CMA platform that Geely developed together with Volvo . The Geely Binrui sedan launched in August 2018 also uses the BMA platform.
Technical specifications
When the car was launched at the end of October 2018, there was a choice of two three-cylinder gasoline engines . The weaker 1.0-liter engine only has a 6-speed manual gearbox , the more powerful 1.5-liter engine, which is also used in the Lynk & Co 02 and the Volvo XC40 , only has a 7- speed gearbox - Dual clutch transmission available.
The plug-in hybrid variant presented in May 2019 also has the 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a 60 kW (82 PS) electric motor . Geely specifies the system output of the vehicle as 190 kW (258 hp) and the electric range as 62 km. This drive is also used in the Geely GL PHEV .
In April 2020, a 1.4-liter gasoline engine with four cylinders replaced the 1.0-liter gasoline engine.
