The tobe M'car or Geely Panda was a small car from Yulon or Geely .

For the first development steps from 2002 the Nissan March K11 was used as the basis. In the end, however, the platform was taken over by the Chinese Geely Geely Merrie , who in turn is a licensed Daihatsu Charade building via the Tianjin Xiali . The development process and the crash simulations were mostly computer-aided, and it was the first car developed in China to achieve five stars in the Chinese C-NCAP crash test. The exterior design was praised as exceptional.

Gleagle

With GlobalEagle Panda, the car was the first model to bear the name of Geely's new automotive brand for the medium price segment. The car brand "GlobalEagle" (in short: "Gleagle") was abolished by the manufacturer Geely in 2014, because the introduction of four company-owned car brands one after the other in 1999, 2008 and afterwards obviously overwhelmed Geely's customers and this for the manufacturer caused sales losses in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

description

The small car with 4 doors and 5 seats had a luggage compartment of 305  liters and was always supplied with power steering , height-adjustable steering column , radio and manually controlled air conditioning , among other things . There were at least 5 equipment lines, some of which also included airbags , anti-lock braking systems , electronic stability programs , and electric windows . At least with the tobe M'car there were additional special models Passion , Cool and Cool & Fun .

Depending on the engine, there were electronic injection systems from different manufacturers, for example from Bosch or Delphi .

tobe M'car

The tobe M'car was a small car from the Taiwanese manufacturer Yulon under the tobe brand and was manufactured in Miaoli, Taiwan, as the brand's first car since November 17, 2009 . The brand name is derived from William Shakespeare's question To be, or not to be . Yulon only sold the better-equipped versions with engines from 1.3 liters and planned to produce around 8,000 to 10,000 units of the model annually. The EV , which stands for Electric Vehicle, represented the electric model variant of Yulon. Production in Taiwan was discontinued in 2013, and the Facebook homepage has not been maintained since December 2016.

Geely / Gleagle Panda / LC / GC2

Series production and sales in the People's Republic of China took place via Geely , there as Geely Panda after the Chinese national animal - the " giant panda ". The Geely Panda was presented in 2006, production started in 2008 and was modernized by Geely in summer 2010. With GlobalEagle Panda or Gleagle Panda for short, the car was the first model to bear the name of Geely's new automotive brand for the medium price segment. A little later it was sold as the Gleagle GC2 , before the separate brands were abandoned in 2014 and the car was offered again as Geely. At least for export, it was also marketed as the Geely LC , in 2016 production at Geely was discontinued, and since 2012 or 2016 there has been a production in Uruguay. A modernized version of the Panda Cross as a joint successor to Panda and Panda Cross will be sold as the Geely Vision X1 in 2019 .

Geely LC Cross or Gleagle GX2

Based on this car, there was also a soft SUV under the names Gleagle GX2 , Geely LC Cross , possibly Geely Panda Cross .

Geely EK-2

In 2014, which was Geely EK-2 with a pure electric drive with 93-horsepower electric motor and LiFePO 4 - traction batteries in the Chinese market (Chinese mainland) introduced.

Lynx Nanoq

In Denmark, the electric version of the model, which goes back to a collaboration between Geely and the Danish battery specialist Lynx, is called the Lynx Nanoq . In the rest of Europe, too, the vehicle should already be offered under this name in some countries. The model name for the European model version comes from the Kalaallisut and translates as " polar bear ". In other markets, the model is allegedly also offered under the name Lynx 1 . The electrical version of a 40  kW strong electric motor driven. The energy for the drive is stored in a lithium polymer battery with a charging capacity of 21 kWh from Lynx LTO. The maximum range should be 215 km, while the possible top speed should be over 130 km / h. Sales on the European market should start in spring 2010. In fact, only a limited small series of the model has been issued.
