The Geely GE is a sedan of the upper midrange segment of the Chinese car manufacturer Geely and provides the hybrid version of Geely GC9 represents.
history
The GE was presented as the new Geely top model at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018. Since the end of May 2018, the vehicle has been sold in China with prices starting at 136,800 yen in five trim levels. The vehicle is to be part of a new Geely strategy, according to which around 90 percent of sales will be made with electrified models by 2020.
technology
The sedan is powered either by a 142 kW (193 hp) mild hybrid (MHEV) or a 192 kW (261 hp) plug-in hybrid (PHEV) . Both drives use a 132 kW (179 hp) 1.5-liter gasoline engine with three cylinders, which is also used in the Volvo XC40 . While a 48-volt electrical system is installed in the MHEV , which forms the mild hybrid technology together with the belt starter generator , the PHEV can also travel up to 60 kilometers purely electrically. It is believed that the Geely GE's drivetrain will also be used in future Volvo vehicles.
A non-electrified 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 135 kW (184 hp) has also been available since August 2019.
