The Geely Icon is a compact SUV from the Chinese car manufacturer Geely in a cubist design .
history
Geely presented the Icon as a concept vehicle at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018 . The production vehicle was presented in November 2019 at the Guangzhou Auto Show . Only there could the special model “Milky Way”, limited to 2020 copies, be purchased. It was sold out after just 15 minutes. The series version has been sold in China since February 2020. For the time being, the Icon will be offered in two versions. The series could also go on sale in Europe in 2020.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic , which peaked at the time the Icon was launched in China, Geely announced that the Icon is using a new intelligent air treatment system that will remove 95 percent of particles larger than 0.3 in diameter To prevent micrometers from getting into the interior. Since coronaviruses are often smaller than 0.3 micrometers, the protection against these pathogens is questioned.
Technical specifications
The SUV is driven from out of the Volvo XC40 known 1.5-liter three-cylinder - petrol engine . The drive is also available as a 48-volt mild hybrid for a surcharge.
