The July district is located in the Chucuito province in the Puno region in southern Peru . The district has an area of 772 km² (according to other sources: 720 km²). The 2017 census counted 19,773 residents. In 1993 the population was 25,070, in 2007 23,741. The administrative seat of the district is the provincial capital of July, 3868 m high , with 8148 inhabitants (as of 2017). July is about one kilometer from the southwestern shore of Lake Titicaca . The national road 3S leads from Puno past July to Desaguadero .
Geographical location
The July district is located in the Altiplano on the southwestern shore of the main lake of Lake Titicaca in the northwest of the Chucuito province.
The district of Juli borders in the east with the district Pomata , in the southeast with the district Huacullani , in the southwest with the district Conduriri , in the west with the district Ilave and in the northwest with the district Pilcuyo .
