The goat's foot is a 1981 m above sea level. NHN high grass mountain peak in the Allgäu Alps .
Location and surroundings
It is located in the mountain range that runs from the Nebelhorn to the Rubihorn and prevents a direct view of the Nebelhorn from Oberstdorf . The avalanche barriers on the west side of Geißfuß are noticeable. They were built to protect the Seealpe middle station of the Nebelhornbahn from avalanches in the 1970s.
The notch height of the Geißfuß is at least 41 meters, its dominance 300 meters, with the Gundkopf being the reference mountain .
Ascent
The goat's foot can be reached easily in a few minutes from the path from the Edmund-Probst-Haus to the Gaisalpe via an unmarked path . The way to the Rubihorn over the Gaißalphorn , however, requires surefootedness and a head for heights.
