The Geitelder Graben is a confluence of several forest streams of the Geitelder wood located in the Braunschweig district of Geitelde . After about 2 km in Rüningen it flows into the Mühlengraben, which in turn flows over the Fuhse Canal into the Oker .

geography

The Geitelder Holz is located in the south-eastern part of the city of Braunschweig and is surrounded in the west and north by a chalk formation rising to over 100 meters, the highest point of which is the Geitelder Berg at 111  m above sea level. Represents NHN . The water flowing out of this area collects in the forest area located at around 80 meters in several ditches that flow together in the forest. This location is indicated in the info box as the source location. Depending on the weather conditions, these tributaries occasionally fall dry.

The stream leaves the forest in a south-easterly direction and is crossed by the connecting road between Geitelde and Rüningen. The course through the fields is straight, the structure remote from nature. It reaches Rüningen in the industrial area south of the town center, which it partly aboveground and partly piped and passed as a ditch. After crossing under the former Bundesstraße 248 (Thieder Straße), the ditch flows relatively poorly towards the east and continues through a green area in the area of the former Okeraue. At the railway bridge he reaches the Mühlengraben Rüningen, which branches off from the Oker and flows towards him in the old Okerbett.

This bends to the north at the bridge with the ditch it has taken up, flows through the village, the area of the Rüningen mill and reaches the Fuhse Canal below the mill. This in turn flows south and further east to the Oker.
